Nigel Heath

Nigel Heath founded Hackenbacker in the mid 80s (he is keen to add that he was very young!). Nigel’s career started in music studios where he was fortunate to find himself working with some amazing artists and mentors.

Hackenbacker was originally a sound transfer company with sound editing and mixing added within five years of it starting operating. Nigel is proud to have worked on many ground breaking and landmark projects and to this day enjoys working on projects sometimes seen as a little ‘out of the ordinary’!

He is a keen promoter of bringing new talent into the industry with the correct training and is proud of the unique family atmosphere at Hackenbacker.

Smudger

The legendary Smudger joined the team in June 2008, with over 35 years’ experience in the industry. He’s worked in various studios during that time and is one of the best technical managers in London.

He likes that Hackenbacker offers a very personal service to its clients and that they are very well serviced by the studio.

Smudger looks after everything technical in Hackenbacker. After work, he likes listening to Radio Caroline and spending time with his family (but not necessarily in that order)!

Stuart Bagshaw

Stuart has been with Hackenbacker since May 2008. His career path has been a slightly strange one! He started in Finance before realizing his passion was in Sound. He started by doing a HND in Electronics and progressed through the ranks and at one point ran a small music recording studio in London.

Stuart thinks that to get any project sounding really good you’ve got to have people who really care about what they’re working on and love the work they do, and Hackenbacker do this really well. He also loves snowboarding & playing tennis, the rest of his time is taken up looking after his partner and his cat!
