Hackenbacker Mixes Meet Me in Winter Charity Single and Promo Video

Watch out X Factor! The Christmas No. 1 slot could be challenged by a new charity single that is released this month to raise money for the homeless charity Shelter and for a local youth centre in Gloucestershire.

Written by Gloucestershire composer Katie Elliott and lyricist Anthony Marks, Meet Me in Winter was produced by Ian Dean, who has previously worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Mark Knopfler and Dame Evelyn Glennie.

Award-winning audio post facility Hackenbacker offered free studio time and the services of Hackenbacker founder Nigel Heath to deliver a 5.1 mix for the song’s promo video. Heath has also mixed and mastered the single, which will be downloadable from iTunes and available at retail from November 21st.

Hackenbacker Is Nominated Twice In the US Primetime Emmy® Awards

Hot on the heels of its success at the British Academy Television Craft Awards, audio post production facility Hackenbacker has once again proved that quality counts by notching up two nominations for the prestigious Primetime Emmy® Awards in the USA.

The Soho-based facility has been nominated twice in the Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie or Special category for its work on series one of Carnival Films/Masterpiece’s major costume drama Downton Abbey and for Any Human Heart, a four-part miniseries also co-produced by Carnival Films/Masterpiece.

Hackenbacker To Handle Audio Post For The Second Series of Downton Abbey

Just weeks after winning a British Academy Television Craft Award in the Best Sound Fiction category for its work on ITV’s costume drama series Downton Abbey, Hackenbacker is delighted to announce that it has been recommissioned to handle the entire audio post for Downton Abbey Series Two.

The second series of Downton Abbey, a Carnival Films/MASTERPIECE co-production, is now shooting on location at Highclere Castle in Berkshire and will be screened this Autumn.

Hackenbacker Assists Mike Figgis With A Groundbreaking Opera Project

Film director Mike Figgis the man behind cinema classics such as the Oscar-winning Leaving Las Vegas, has brought his visionary directorial style to the world of opera thanks to a unique collaboration with ENO. In a new production of Donizetti’s profound masterpiece Lucrezia Borgia, which is currently taking place in London, Figgis has interspersed the music with specially commissioned film charting the early life of the infamous Lucrezia Borgia.

Audio post production for the filmed sequences was carried out at London-based post production facility Hackenbacker by award-winning sound mixer and Hackenbacker director, Nigel Heath. Figgis and Heath have worked together many times in the past, most notably on the audio post production for films such as Leaving Las Vegas and Hotel.

Hackenbacker Creates ‘Out Of This World’ Audio For BBC1’s Outcasts, a Major New Drama Series

Kudos Film & TV, the production company behind era-defining hit programmes such as Spooks, Hustle and Life On Mars, has once again commissioned post production facility Hackenbacker to handle all of the audio post for its latest series, Outcasts.

Due to start broadcasting on February 7th on BBC 1, this eight part drama series is set in the future on the recently discovered planet of Carpathia, which is now home to the surviving population from Earth. Settled in the town of Forthaven, the Outcasts are a group of people who have left their old lives on Earth behind in extraordinary circumstances. Each one has been promised a second chance at life and an opportunity to create a new society, far away from home, family, friends and the past.
