Hackenbacker helps comedy star Richard Ayoade make his feature film directorial debut

Award-wining Soho-based facility Hackenbacker recently completed the entire audio post production for Submarine, a new film written and directed by comedy star Richard Ayoade.Best known for his performances in Darkplace, The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh, Richard Ayoade has already directed a number of music videos for bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend. Submarine, however, marks his debut as a feature film director.

Dame Evelyn Glennie mixing at Hackenbacker

Percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and composer/producer Ian Dean have collaborated on the score for Golf in the Kingdom, a new feature film directed by Susan Streitfeld and due for release later this year.

The score, described by Streitfield as ‘wonderful and fantastic’, was unveiled last week to a specially invited audience at Hackenbacker Audio Post Production in Soho.

Hackenbacker Handles Audio for Downtown Abbey

Award-winning facility Hackenbacker Audio Post Production is currently handling all of the audio post for ITV’s major new costume drama series, Downton Abbey, which is scheduled to air on ITV1 in Autumn 2010.

The series has been written and created by Julian Fellowes who is best known for Gosford Park, which won a plethora of awards including an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2001. Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern lead the all-star cast, which also includes Penelope Wilton, Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Lesley Nicol, Siobhan Finneran, Rob James Collier, Joanne Froggatt and Rose Leslie.
